This feature enhances the organizational capabilities of your data by introducing the option to create more complex and hierarchical groupings within your Retable tables. With advanced grouping, you can now go beyond basic single-level grouping to implement second and third-level groupings.
This means you can split up a main group of data into smaller parts, making it easier to look at the details. For example, if you want to organize your data by where it comes from, then by which department it's related to, and lastly by the status of the project or any other way with multiple steps, advanced grouping lets you do this in a detailed way, giving you a full view of your data.
Let's see how it works:
- Click on grouping in your toolbar and choose which column you want to group your data by. For example, if you have a task tracking table, it might have columns like task name, status, priority, and assignee. First, you can group by the "Assignee" column.
- Then, from the grouping panel, you can add a second grouping and make this grouping according to the "Priority" column. After you've done your second grouping, you will see that the data in your table is first grouped according to the "Assignee" column, and within each group, it is further grouped by "Priority."
- If you want, you can add a third group to further subdivide your groups based on the "Status" column. You can create up to three levels of grouping.
